Overview of the Insurance Process
Step 1: Inspections
When a homeowner schedules a free damage inspection, we come to their home and assess the damage and the repairs needed. During the inspection, we take pictures of the damage and mark them as proof to support the claim. Our thorough inspection process helps us to identify all the issues that need to be corrected, including interior damage.
Once we have finished our inspection, we will sit down with the homeowner and show them what we found. In our inspection, we include an assessment of the damage, how much replacement costs, and make an educated guess on what their insurance should provide. Because of our relationships with various home insurance companies, we can estimate the outcome of the claim based on our past experiences with specific companies.
Step 2: Meet the Adjuster
Once the homeowner files their claim, their insurance company will send an adjuster to their house to verify the claimed damage and create their assessment. We will get on the roof with the adjuster to point out the damage and advocate for the homeowner to receive full coverage. In our damage assessment, we will provide the adjuster with the storm date so that the insurance company knows the homeowner is filing within their time parameters.
The insurance company's process of reviewing the claim and determining compensation for the homeowner can take a significant amount of time. We will respond quickly to the insurance company’s questions about the damage and back up our responses with professional evidence of the damage to keep the process moving.
After the adjuster inspection, we will accompany the homeowner on a three-way call with the insurance company. Our knowledge and expertise allow us to mediate between the insurance company and the homeowner. If the insurance company declines the claim, we can often appeal and overturn the decision by providing expert proof of the damage and finding your coverage amount.
Step 3: Prep, Install, and Cleanup
Once we receive approval from the insurance company, we will install the proper materials to replace the damaged roof. Although roofs are most commonly affected by severe storms and accidents requiring an insurance claim, we also fulfill claims for damaged siding. We have the resources to find recalled or discontinued materials to ensure the final product matches the rest of the house.
